Dolamanco Hotel

I spent a few weeks at Dolamanco Hotel and would happily return. My room was spacious and very clean, with a lovely view of the park, and the price was reasonable. It’s right beside Da'an Park and plenty of places to eat. The staff and management were kind, and cleaning was done once a day around noon. They also provided free water and Pocari Sweat. Self-service laundry cost 100NTD, and they let me leave my luggage on check-in and check-out days.

I picked this hotel because it’s right across from Daan Park and in front of Daan MRT Station and the Daan bus stop. I needed somewhere for my morning runs, and Room 306 had an amazing park view. The neighborhood felt more local and businesslike than touristy, but Taipei’s advanced bus and metro system made it easy to get around everywhere. After a super cold night at another hotel with no heater, arriving here in winter felt like a relief. The nice staff greeted me, upgraded my room, and it was warm. Even the toilet was heated, Japanese-style, with all the buttons.

The rooms are large, with about seven on each floor. Mine had a bench for bags, a small clothes cupboard, and nice bar stools by the park-facing windows. I liked the non-carpeted floor and the big coffee tables on either side of the bed, handy for charging my phone. There weren’t enough hangers, and the slippers were thin and disposable. The bathroom felt a little dated and the towels were on the thin side, but it was still okay. I chose the hotel for the Da An park view while on a relaxing vacation. Da An Park Station is only a 100m walk, with the lift at Exit 4 just across the road. It’s one stop from Dong Men and touristy Yong Kang Street, and on the same line to Taipei 101. A cafe, convenience mart, and foot massage parlour are around the corner. There’s a water cooler beside the concierge, plus some nibbles. They also offer a form for ordering delivery of famous food gifts if you’re tired or lazy. Staff were polite, with people on duty morning, afternoon, and night.

We had a great stay and looked forward to sleeping in after long days of travel. The staff were warm and lovely, greeting us whenever we came and went. They cleaned our room every day even when we hadn’t requested it. Thanks for taking such good care of us. Our deluxe window room had a King bed and was clean and spacious, though dated, with peeling paint. Towels were thin and fraying. Shampoo and body wash were supplied, but no toothbrush, so you may want to bring your own. That didn’t spoil our experience. The hotel faces Daan Forest Park and Daan Park MRT, with an easy-to-reach location and a lovely view of the green park. We also liked the quiet neighborhood, which made us feel more like locals than tourists.
