Hotel Cloud Arena-Daan

The location is great, and one staff member was kind and attentive. The others were so rude, giving side-eye and glaring without even saying hello. The place smells too, with bathroom odors noticeable as soon as you reach the floor. Several floors in the building seem to be used for illegal activities involving women, drinks and clubs. It felt sketchy, and I don’t recommend it.

Our room had a strong cigarette smell. At night, women were walking around who seemed to be involved in adult services. I wouldn’t recommend this place for families with children.

The hotel shares a building with a night club, but the room stayed quiet. The pillow was average, though it did the job. Even after a recent renovation, the room looks old, perhaps because of the design, while the fixtures seem fairly new. It has its advantages for a short solo stay.

The breakfast was decent, with Taiwanese specialties, and the hotel is very convenient, right beside the MRT station with a view of Taipei 101. That’s why I gave it 2 stars. The manager also replied to us promptly, so we’d come back if we visit Taipei again. But the customer service was the worst ever. On the 12th of August, we politely asked where to put our luggage, and the receptionist, a lady in a black suit with heavy makeup, was extremely rude. If she isn’t properly trained, she should stay at home. The lady in long white sleeves and the gentleman receptionist were both friendly and professional.
