They say the place is AI managed, but in reality it’s an iPad and an intercom with someone speaking through it. Be careful with their card “pre authorization” system. They stole 3500 USD, and even after I filed a full complaint with the police, my problem wasn’t resolved. I suspect they may be colluding with officers at the nearby police station. This hotel is a scam, be aware!

We paid for a very large room right next to Pier 5, which made it easy to cycle all around town, and there are plenty of buses nearby so you don’t have to walk to the metro. The rooms were nice and clean, though the electric sockets could be better placed. We stayed in the executive suite, then returned to Taipei a week later and stayed in a regular double bedroom. To use the lift, enter the code, or ask for it over the intercom. A staff member will then check you in. Lovely place.

Self check-in was easy and user-friendly. The rooms have free high-speed Wi-Fi. It’s about a 15-minute walk from Taipei Main Station, so getting to transport and nearby attractions is convenient. Room service met the basic expectations, with mineral water plus free coffee and tea. The bed was very soft, though it had a small stain. Soundproofing is poor, and that could affect sleep and comfort.

I liked the location and the quality of the room enough to extend my stay. It’s not fancy, but it’s reliably clean and, in my opinion, really good value. Check-in is automated, which I already knew, and it caused no problems for me. Some of the floor beams make the rooms a little quirky, but it’s a good base for a Taipei visit.
