K Hotel - Taipei II

Free laundry came in handy, especially with all the walking in Taiwan’s heat, and there are plenty of food places and convenience stores close by. The hotel is around a six-minute walk from the nearest MRT station, with a direct red line ride to Taipei Main station. The staff were lovely and helped with my requests. They even let me check out very late because my flight from Taiwan wasn’t until late. Breakfast was an incredible, healthy Japanese-style buffet. Most mornings I had natto beans, congee, eggs, vegetables, fish, and fruit, and it was delicious. The kitchen staff were friendly too. I had a great stay and would absolutely come back.

The breakfast area is a nice extra because guests can use it all day, with tea, coffee, and snacks available. Breakfast itself has lots of choices and good coffee, and the staff there were especially friendly. Tables were cleared quickly. Laundry is free, including detergent, and luggage storage is free as well. The Wi-Fi worked very well throughout the hotel. Our room was clean and spacious, with a bright, spotless bathroom and strong water pressure. They replenished two bottles of water each day and regularly topped up the tea. The bed was on the firm side but comfortable, and we found a small Christmas gift in the room, a thoughtful touch. The room faced the street, so traffic was noisy, and the glowing switches and bright blinking smoke detector meant it never got fully dark at night. Service was excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always greeted us. They let us check in at noon rather than 3 p.m., which we really appreciated after a long flight, and housekeeping kept the room clean. One serious concern: the cleaning cart sometimes blocked an emergency exit, which needs to be addressed for safety. Despite these issues, we had a very comfortable stay with great amenities and kind staff.

My family thought this was the best stay of our trip, even though it was just one night between stops and we mostly stayed in five-star hotels. We liked the Japanese-style breakfast, the rooms, and the locations.

Getting around from here is easy, and there are several night markets nearby. The room was nice and the bed comfortable, though this isn’t a luxury hotel. Staff put in a lot of effort to help, even if English can be a challenge. Breakfast was good. A very nice place to stay.
