N hotel

My biggest issue was one man at reception, an older staff member with glasses. His attitude and service were the worst I’ve encountered in all my travels: he was rude and unprofessional, with no sense of service. I want to be clear that I mean this particular person, not the other staff. It’s a shame, since one employee’s behavior can sour the guest experience even when the rooms and facilities are decent. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well laid out, and the bathroom worked well too. Complimentary water, coffee, and soft drinks were available in the lobby and shared areas on the 3rd floor. The hotel entrance isn’t especially appealing, and two elevators serve several facilities in the building, but that wasn’t a big inconvenience during my stay at N Hotel Taipei last week.

The cleaning team deserves credit, and the room was clean and adequate for Taipei. Still, the window looked straight at a wall. The worst part was the male receptionists, both around their mid-40s, one there at check-in and another at checkout. They were both awful to deal with. We weren’t asking for anything unusual, just going through the normal steps, but their attitude made it seem like we weren’t paying, even though the price wasn’t low. We don’t know, maybe they’re the bosses. A moderate rating feels fair.

Being near MRT stations is the best thing about this place. It’s a somewhat unusual building with two hotels inside, and N hotel’s lobby is on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and nice, with good Wi-Fi and a TV. There’s no breakfast, but snacks and drinks are available during business hours.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. We found the pillows too high, so we slept without them. It’s reasonably priced, close to the MRT, and well placed for exploring Taipei.
