We stayed from 18/12/25 to 10/01/26, and it was a fantastic experience. The place felt warm and welcoming, more personal than some big hotels. Right from the start, all the staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful. The cafe food was delicious and welcoming, the restaurant was on another level and authentic, and the breakfast buffet had lots of variety. The location was spot on and so convenient, and our room was super clean. Coming back to TW from Australia felt wonderful. We’ll definitely see you next time.

We spent a week here with a toddler. The hotel is a bit old, but the room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and had good shower pressure. The drains worked well, too. It was convenient for getting to the zoo, maokong, and Wei feng. The bathroom has power outlets for both 110v and 220v, which was thoughtful, but could use more hooks for towels and clothes. I’d also have liked more tabletop space in the room for small things.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for women traveling alone or in groups. On my first solo trip to Taiwan, I booked a superior double. They first put me in room 1209, a very narrow space of about 12 square meters excluding the bathroom. It felt unsettling, with a large mirror facing the bed, old facilities, and an unclean bathtub. The room also didn’t match the Agoda photos, which showed a red sofa. I called reception and they moved me to room 307 on the third floor, which was more than twice as large. I appreciated the staff helping, but couldn’t understand why the same booking gave me two completely different types of room. Not long after settling in, I noticed a second door. I’d seen this kind of setup online, so I asked staff about it. He said it was locked, but it wasn’t when I checked. He locked it himself and said the door on the other side was secured too. At around 11:15 p.m., someone began banging hard on that door. After nearly a minute, I started recording and asked what was going on, but the knocking kept up. I was terrified and called the front desk. When a staff member came, I showed the recording and explained how scared I was. They were dismissive and offered no reassurance, just asked bluntly whether I wanted to change rooms or have them lock the neighboring door. I asked if the person next door was a man or woman, thinking it might make sense if another woman was scared. Staff contacted the front desk, but were told guest privacy meant they couldn’t say. I asked whether the neighbor had been told someone was staying here and asked not to knock again. The answer was vague: “We will inform the guest.” That promise didn’t reassure me, so I asked to move again. Within minutes, another staff member showed me two rooms, one cramped and the other the same 1209 I’d started in. At the front desk, before I could explain properly, they told me I’d been “upgraded.” In just six hours, I changed rooms twice, dealt with harassment, and lost trust in the hotel’s ability to keep guests safe. This hasn’t changed my positive view of Taiwan, which I still highly recommend visiting, but I strongly advise against staying at this hotel unless you have no other option. And please put your safety first when traveling, especially as a woman. Speak up when something feels wrong and trust your instincts.

The location was amazing, close to everything, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing too. As an Asian, I enjoyed everything I ate. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

The service was awful and rude. You can’t bring outside food into the lobby or cafe, even if you bought it from the cafe. Service gets 0/10. The shower leaked every time, leaving water all over the bathroom, and the room floor was uneven and awkward to walk on. Not worth the price unless there’s nowhere else.
