The room was modern and quite nice, with toiletries including toothbrushes and a comb. Air conditioning is controlled by remote, so don’t waste time looking for a wall control. Getting there is the tricky bit if you’re on your own. Go to Via Hotel and ask them to call the hotel; someone can come escort you. The elevator is around the corner from the Paul Mitchell salon, on the left side. Look for the entrance with silver mailboxes, a small office on the left, and elevators on the right. It doesn’t look fancy, but you can ask the guy how to reach the hotel on the seventh floor. Up there, you’ll need a code for each of two doors. It’s about ten converted apartment units on that floor. Breakfast is at Via Hotel, but I didn’t think much of it. There was porridge, green onion pancake, dumplings, xiao long bao, breads, boiled egg, cereal, a few drinks, snack packs, coffee, and a couple other things. For the location, the price is great, and I’d stay again.

It’s in an old residential building and can be hard to find if you’re visiting for the first time. Ask the lobby security and head up to the 10th floor for reception.

The rooms were clean and pleasant, and the location worked really well for us. Sogo Green and its restaurants are close by, with plenty of other places to eat and shop around the hotel. When we visited, the Jiufen bus stop was nearby too. Finding the building and check-in office took some preparation, so here's what helped: from MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Exit 1, turn right into the alley, walk past the park, then turn right at the intersection. Hi-Life should be on your left. Look for the building marked "Wow" and its side entrance, where you'll see lockers. From there, take the elevator on the right to the 10th floor. The office is open 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Go straight out of the elevator, turn left, and ring the bell at the second door on the left, room 45 10F-3, to get your key card. The accommodation itself is on the 7th floor, by the elevator. You can look back and see the green Sogo store. The listed address is Urban Chic Inn, No.1, Ln. 126, Sec. 1, Fuxing S. Getting around was easy, there was plenty of food nearby, and the place felt safe. The decor was nice, staff were friendly, and breakfast was simple but tasty. I did find it hard to locate because there wasn't enough signage, and the soundproofing was poor. The toilet door also got stuck now and then. Even so, I enjoyed my stay and would come back if I had the chance. Thanks.
