Vendome East Inn

Just so you know, there are bars in the building. The hotel is on the 8th floor, with bars on the 6th and 4th floors 😅 It felt like trying to sleep in a club 😂 The whole building and room smelled strongly of cigarettes and some other nasty, unknown odor.

The staff were caring, and the location was convenient. The room, though, felt dirty, rusty, and rundown. The hotel occupies the upper floors of a building, with noisy, smoke-filled parlors below. In the elevator you’ll run into smoke, and possibly some interesting characters.

The staff handled our luggage perfectly, and the service was great. My bedroom was clean too. I think this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited, and I highly recommend it to people traveling to Taipei.

There was grime, splashes, and stains all over the walls and above the bed. Dust and dirt were ground into the carpet and collected in corners that looked neglected for years. The place was filthy, dusty, and gross. We complained to management, but they seemed accustomed to the condition and didn’t care. They weren’t surprised by the filth, and the other room they offered was only a little cleaner, still disgusting. It was so bad that we left and abandoned our booking after they refused a refund. It wasn’t even a cheap hotel. Completely unacceptable. It doesn’t deserve one star, more like minus five. Avoid it unless you enjoy disappointment.
