The stay was really awful. The shared areas couldn't be used, and the toilet was terrible, taking several flushes before it was properly clean. The soundproofing was bad too. We could clearly hear the neighbor working on their pipe several times during the night. We arrived an hour early and called to ask if we could check in a little sooner. The owner said yes, so we went over. Once we arrived, she changed her tone and said that although she should charge a rest fee, she'd waive it by not providing breakfast the next day. Breakfast is a small expense and we could afford it, but the accommodation itself was truly terrible. Think carefully before booking.

We were extremely uncomfortable. We rented the whole building, but the fridge was packed with food, the shoe cabinet couldn't be used at all, and at first we couldn't use the first-floor toilet because the landlady said it was for her alone. We only got to use it after explaining that our elderly relatives couldn't easily go upstairs. The four-person room on the second floor was the only one without hot water. We were told the water heater element was broken, but shouldn't that have been checked before guests arrived? The next day the roller shutter broke, so we couldn't park our car. The electric kettle was caked with limescale and clearly hadn't been cleaned. There was a cat on the balcony, making it impossible for us to use it. It didn't feel like we had the whole building to ourselves; it felt like the landlady was living with us. There was even a security camera in the first-floor living room, which made me feel watched.

When you book the entire building, you'd expect the owner to let guests use the whole place as long as they don't damage anything, right? 😏😏 That's how guests see it. The landlady didn't show up until almost 5 pm on the first day, even though check-in was at 3. Could check-out have been later? Instead, she started by listing the rules. Listen carefully 🤦♀️ 1. Turn off the air conditioning when you go out. Maybe the landlady will trip the power herself. Remember how hotels give you two cards? 2. You can park in the garage or around the guesthouse, but the landlady may try to take your spot. 3. There is a room and bathroom on the first floor, but you'll share them. 4. You can use the kitchen utensils, though you might have to pay. 5. The living room is shared, so the landlady will come back to use it. Don't be surprised. 6. The garage is full of shoes and smells a bit. 7. The fridge is full of the landlady's food, and it stinks. There's no room for you. The landlady says she only lends guests their room, and the rest are 'common' areas. If you're okay with sharing space with the landlady, think it over before checking in! 😏😏 #A landlady afraid guests will use the space and stingy with electricity bills #Honestly, she should stop running a guesthouse and use the space herself

The proprietress was polite when we checked in, but the long list of rules made the stay feel restrictive in a way travel shouldn't. For instance, the living room air conditioner couldn't be switched on, and the first-floor toilet was only for the hostess. The next morning she came into the house to eat breakfast and watched us while we watched TV. It felt like we had no privacy. She stayed at the B&B the whole time and kept telling us to go out and enjoy ourselves. What was she planning to do once we left? The fridge was full of her food and smelled foul. We paid, but didn't get the service we expected. Also, I wouldn't come here in summer. The air conditioner barely cools, and the bathroom shower head was broken. These things really happened, so think twice before checking in.

The room had excellent amenities, including separate wet and dry areas, a bidet toilet, and a powerful shower. The shared lounge was spacious, with sofas that were great for relaxing. Parking was easy too, with plenty of roadside spaces for several cars on the edge of the city, and it's not too far from downtown by car. The hostess was really friendly, and chatting with the owner about Taitung's local specialties made the stay feel different from a hotel or private villa. There's a cat at the B&B as well, so cat lovers should definitely stay here. I highly recommend it! 👍👍👍
