Snail Trail B&B

The B&B was spotless, and the owner was courteous and quick to help. Rooms are roomy and come with Wi-Fi, a TV, a fridge, and a private bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. You can choose a single king bed or two king beds.

Mr. Lai was a great help, sharing useful information for a first visit to Taitung and pointing us toward plenty of good local food. The room was very clean and everything was well managed.

The room was roomy, clean, and had a comfortable bed, plus an attached bathroom. There was a hair dryer, reusable bath towels, hand towels, cups, tea, water, and a fridge. The air conditioner made some noise, but it was still bearable. I'd bring my own bath towel. We arrived around 10pm and the friendly owner was waiting at the entrance to welcome us and check us in. He gave us a map marked with places to visit and local spots to eat. We tried almost everything on his list and enjoyed it. He also helped sort out our itinerary and transportation for the next day, and offered us a ride to the train station on our last day. Breakfast is available, though we only had it on our final morning because of our schedule. The owner's sister made homemade waffles with dragonfruit and passionfruit on the side. They were crisp and fragrant. Vanilla ice cream would have made them even better.

We came to climb Mount Dulan and originally booked two nights, from October 10th to October 12th. Our room was on the third floor, with a stunning view from the window. Parking was easy, and the B&B was clean and well equipped. The bed squeaked a little, though. It's beside the train station, but locals say the city center is actually quite a way off, so picking up daily necessities isn't as convenient as I expected. Still a good B&B.
