Breakfast was a bright spot: there was a decent selection, it tasted good, and the chef welcoming guests was exceptionally friendly. Parking was free, and the guesthouse was close to Taitung Station, though the area felt a little remote. At check-in, the receptionist seemed in a bad mood and didn't smile, which affected my experience. The room was cramped, with two double beds squeezed in to make a family room. There was hardly space for anything else, and no desk, dressing table, or luggage rack. It did have a small balcony, but the window faced the building next door, so the balcony wasn't useful, except perhaps for smokers.
