Good.

The owners were incredibly hospitable and kind, and breakfast was so plentiful that we were too full for lunch. The owner cooked a different spread each day and even made our coffee. We booked a four-person room, which was spacious, exceptionally clean, and had a bathtub, a rare find in Taitung outside hotels. After long days walking, we'd have a relaxing bath before the next day out. Hongwashan Lodge is now my first choice in Taitung, highly recommended. I do hope they might have an extra pillow next time, or at least a firmer one.

We got a free room upgrade, and the friendly owners were so kind to us. The guesthouse has convenient on-site parking and an elevator. You can see the care in its design and building materials, and the breakfast was excellent. If you get the chance to visit Taitung, I highly recommend coming to experience it.

We'd just left after two nights when we realized we'd forgotten some important things at the guesthouse while rushing to catch the ferry to Green Island. The owners brought them right to us, which touched us so much. They were dedicated and welcoming throughout, and shared lots of Taitung attractions and restaurant tips. Our room was spotless, and breakfast was like something from a five-star restaurant. We were so full that we didn't finish eating until afternoon. Their hospitality made the trip, and I'd happily come back to Taitung again and again.
