The hill made getting to activities an extra hour of travel, and we paid for Uber rides up it to avoid a two-hour bus commute. For all that time and expense, my daughter and I mostly just slept in an old room that was barely clean. The breakfast was minimal and prepared for you, not the buffet shown online. We also petted a few cats, though, as at other places, you had to buy a drink. I liked spending time with the cats when the woman wasn't bothering them, but I watched her clean feces off a cat's tail in the service sink, handle things with her hands, then skip washing with soap. We didn't drink our drinks after that. The resort's service felt flat and angry the whole time, like the staff didn't want to be there. I booked this trip to spend time with my kid, and it became a total waste of money and time. It was one of the worst places I've stayed in Taiwan. I'd booked for amenities that weren't available. The few that were offered had limited hours in the morning and then didn't reopen until late afternoon. There was no clear notice that the pools were closed unless you went back through 50 pictures to find an announcement they'd posted in Mandarin, while their other announcements were in English. At 11 pm, traveling alone with my daughter and after we'd spent money driving up the hill, they offered me a refund, when other hotels were already booked up.
