Do Re Mi Motel

I came across this motel on a booking portal and was glad I chose it. The service crew were attentive and always smiling, and went the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. Breakfast was surprisingly good, with options for kids and adults, plus special hot dishes available to order. Kudos!

We usually book a room at their Taoyuan branch, but this time we only came for breakfast because we knew they served a full American breakfast. We were disappointed to find there was a one-hour limit for dining in. After a busy morning, we’d hoped to eat comfortably and take our time, but had to rush. They even told us our time was almost up and that we had limited time to finish our hot coffee. I know they offer takeaway coffee, but that wasn’t why we chose to dine in. This branch doesn’t serve sausages with the side menu, which limited the choices for my husband, who is allergic to chicken and eggs. Also, please don’t use a push cart to serve food. The space is small, and the same cart used for cleaning is also used for serving. We’d seen this before, but I wanted to mention it because it felt unhygienic and inappropriate.

The concept and design were great, the staff competent, and breakfast nice. But the rooms smelled of thirdhand cigarette smoke, which spoiled those positives. The staff kindly did what they could, and after moving to a third room, which was a little better, we settled in.

I’m staying here with my grandmother, who uses a wheelchair. There’s enough space for her wheelchair in the room, and the whole room is very clean. We’re vegetarian, and breakfast was filling, with mock meat and king oyster mushroom as the two main dishes. We’re very happy with our stay.
