There were so many cockroaches. I killed about 15 during the night, and plenty more hid in the walls or under the bed before I could squash them. The 6:00 check-in at least meant less time in that roach-filled room.

If you book two days on Agoda, checkout is at 11.00 and you have to check in again at 18.00. Otherwise the price goes up to 1800nt, twice as much. There's a Filipino supermarket downstairs where cheap pantyliners cost 25nt.

The woman at the counter said, at the manager's request, I couldn't see the room first. I told her I wouldn't stay without looking, and she eventually showed me a very plain little box of a room, with no windows, thin walls, and thin bedding. When I asked for an extra blanket in case it got cold, she said there weren't any. Her attitude put me off, so I went elsewhere and found a really nice room at Sodamazon for only 200 more, with friendly service. You can find somewhere better.

The room was tidy and clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The TV had lots of channels, including some in languages other than Chinese. I'm not sure whether they have free Wi-Fi.

A 6 pm check-in and breakfast at 7 am? Who decided on those times? I've stayed at quite a few hotels in Taiwan, and this one was the worst I've experienced. I won't return. It's especially inconvenient if you have an early flight. Zhongli has plenty of good hotels, so spare yourself and choose another.
