Hotel Kuva Chateau

We came back after six years and found the rooms still very clean, with a peaceful atmosphere and really friendly staff. Kuva is very affordable, and the breakfast has enough variety for different tastes. A large mall with good food and a night market are both about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is quite far from the main tourist spots, so not many staff speak English, but we were fine using Google Translate to communicate. We'd definitely recommend it.

The hotel is across from a big park, and the room was spacious and clean for me and my kids for our one-night stay. It looked a bit dated, but everything was well kept and the beds were comfortable. They even added a bed guard when I asked. Good value for the price, and we'd stay again if we're in Taoyuan. Breakfast was an extra 358 per adult if you eat after 8:30 a.m.

The earthquake around 11 p.m. was frightening: pieces of the ceiling started falling, and the TV came down and nearly hit our child. Check-in staff weren't helpful, though the people who came to make up the room were much nicer and more cheerful. The rooms were very dim, and the bath towels felt really rough.

The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean, as you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The front desk was especially helpful, finding transportation schedules, ticket prices for adults, children, and seniors, and the station closest to the hotel for my next city. The area feels industrial, with massage parlors and pawn shops, and isn't much to see. There's a park you could walk through, with two well-rated buffet restaurants at the far end, one of which is a must. Otherwise, stay inside.
