Jiashite Hotel

Breakfast was another letdown, with very few options and service only from 7:00-9:00 AM. When I asked for a manager, I first heard that one hardly ever comes in. A young man later said he was the manager, but took no responsibility and refused compensation, saying it was out of their control. He even said I could complain wherever I liked. We left right away and moved to a much better hotel. No guest should be treated this way, and I’ve had friendlier, more professional service at roadside motels than at this supposed four-star hotel. Stay somewhere else. We had one of our worst hotel stays ever at Jiashite Hotel in Taoyuan. The lobby was dim and gloomy, and the front desk staff who checked us in acted cold and dismissive, with little basic hospitality. Our room smelled strongly musty as soon as we entered. The toilet had been left unflushed by the previous guest, the furniture was dated, and the couch was visibly stained. The room seemed poorly kept. The bed was the only part that was even remotely acceptable. At around 12:45-1:00 AM, cigarette smoke started coming into our room. I went down immediately to report it, but the staff member seemed indifferent and only offered to call the neighboring room to remind them not to smoke. The odor continued, so I went back down. He was still careless and dismissive. At 1:20 AM he suggested switching rooms, which was absurd at that hour when our things were already unpacked. Instead, he brought up a tiny plug-in air purifier and acted as though that settled it. The smoke and the purifier’s noise kept us from getting much sleep.
