The response from the hotel left me feeling they had no real interest in sorting this out. When I checked in on January 26th, I later found a used condom under the wheeled bedside table on the left while pulling it out to set a drink in front of the TV. My baby was just over three months old and already asleep, and it was late, so I didn’t want to wake the baby to raise it then. I waited until checkout the next day and deliberately picked a quiet moment when no other guests were in the lobby. The staff member only said, “I’m sorry, you can report it to us immediately next time.” When I asked if that was all and whether there would be an explanation, she said yes, that was it. I told her it was disgusting and hadn’t been cleaned properly, and that we hadn’t been given any explanation or compensation. She repeated the same answer. Even a small gift, a refund, or a promise to check with her supervisor would have been fine, but I felt they should at least explain what happened. I decided I only wanted a refund. My husband, baby, and I left. The hotel called not long afterward to offer a small gift, but since nothing had been offered when we were there, I didn’t feel there was a need for one now. I said I just wanted a refund. The receptionist said she needed to speak with her supervisor again. I said that was okay and asked her to get back to me later that day. She agreed, but now a day has passed and it’s after 8 pm, with still no reply. They seem not to care and aren’t taking the initiative to deal with it.
