Sin Ge Hotel

I only needed somewhere to check in and rest quickly after drinking, so I booked this last-minute hotel even though I knew it was outdated. I wasn’t expecting a high rating. What shocked me was finding the previous guest’s used towels and bath towels still in the bathroom. I called the first floor, and they asked how it could have happened and what I wanted them to do, like whether I wanted to change rooms. Given that response, I didn’t ask to move. I just wanted to rest. There were two sets originally, and a third set had been used, so it clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. (Picture attached)

I was here with a tour group and found the whole room unpleasant. It smelled terrible, and there were so many mirrors that I felt uneasy and wondered if someone else was in there. The equipment looked old, so I didn’t dare use it. I also didn’t trust how long the complimentary mineral water had been there, and didn’t dare eat the free breakfast.

I thought an old, cheap place would be fine since I only needed to sleep. But not long after I lay down, I started hearing noises, and a little later I felt as if something was crushing me. As soon as I could get up, I packed and checked out. I’d been there less than three hours. The front desk didn’t seem especially surprised. Does this happen often?

The staff in housekeeping, the kitchen, and at the front desk were all kind and friendly. The rooms were very clean, and the four-person rooms had enough space not to feel cramped. The thick blankets were especially impressive: clean and warm, with a pleasant, slightly dry smell, not cold, damp, and smelly like blankets left in a closet too long. Prices were very reasonable on both weekdays and weekends. Seeing that they used to be 1000 more made me feel the hotel was conscientious, especially since some renovations had kept prices the same even though the rooms weren’t ideal. Many breakfast dishes didn’t look appealing, but they tasted fine. There were a couple of drawbacks. The hallway had a household-style water dispenser, but the hot water wasn’t very hot and sometimes there was no water. The bathtub surface was peeling.
