The owners, a husband and wife, were friendly and left us free bottled water. The place was very clean, and at 1800 yuan a night it felt like good value. Parking was available, and I liked the large bathroom, strong water pressure, cool air conditioning, high-looking ceiling and private balcony. The one annoyance was a hissing sound from the air conditioner. For some reason, folding toilet paper and wedging it between the unit and the wall helped a lot. I'd come back if I'm in the area.

A clean, quiet place to stay around Dongshan in Yilan. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and there are windows and balconies.

The views from the window were lovely in the morning. The farm was just out of view, otherwise it'd have been all lush greenery. Both nights and mornings were peaceful, and the soundproofing was excellent. We stayed in a spacious four-person room. The B&B was very clean and comfortable, with a bathroom tucked away inside, which was new to me. The shower had strong, hot water. The hostess and owner were polite and welcoming. It's a little out of the way, but that's fine for a road trip. I'd recommend it and keep it on my list of places to stay.

The place was clean, but the arrangements for our group of 12 adults were frustrating. We could only use the small 1.5-ping living room upstairs, and when we asked the owner if we could have tea in the large first-floor living room, the answer was no. We'd asked several questions before the trip and been told yes, but in the end nothing was allowed, even though we were the only guests in the building. The main thing we hadn't been told was that the owner lives on the first floor. That made for a really bad experience.
