Sitting out on the balcony and relaxing was so pleasant. The setting is peaceful, and the proprietress is friendly.

The nights were especially peaceful, with red lanterns glowing at the entrance and a serene courtyard. Breakfast in the lobby, which also serves as the dining area, was a lovely experience. It’s decorated with various artworks that I believe belong to the owner’s collection, so you can enjoy them while you eat. We stayed in a spacious four-person room, furnished with a Japanese-style table between the beds, a dressing table, wardrobe, and large LCD TV. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the overall style was minimalist. Large and small towels came wrapped in kraft paper, a detail I really appreciated. Everything felt comfortable, and the accommodations matched the online pictures. The owner was warm and welcoming. She picked us up when we arrived and dropped us off when we left, and she was helpful with recommendations for sights and nearby restaurants. The area is very quiet, just houses and rice paddies. There’s a 7-Eleven about a 5-10 minute walk away, convenient for anyone who likes a rural setting.

My family and I have stayed here twice, and we were very happy both times. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with lovely views, well-sized beds, and a roomy bathroom with a jacuzzi. Breakfast, thoughtfully prepared by the owner, was both nutritious and tasty. The landlady is so kind and welcoming. She offered fruit and refreshments as soon as we arrived and suggested some lesser-known places to visit. The simple, elegant decor shows her taste and care. This will be our first choice for a guesthouse on our next trip to Yilan.

There were mosquitoes all over the bathtub when I went to brush my teeth this morning. The room was dusty and had mosquitoes too. Right at the door, there were swarms of them, and I spotted two burrowing beetles on the stairs. The water temperature kept swinging between painfully hot and too cold.
