Instructor 818 Rooms Homestay

We’ve stayed in many places in Taiwan and around the world, and this host is one of the best we’ve had. He was kind, generous, and full of energy, and made our father-and-sons weekend on the island unforgettable. He chatted warmly with us adults and connected naturally with the kids. He also arranged our ferry rides and snorkeling trip, and everything went smoothly. The snorkeling team he recommended was excellent, and we all had a fantastic time. We accidentally left our ferry tickets and room key behind. Without hesitation, he rushed to the pier to bring us the tickets and collect the key. That level of thoughtfulness meant a lot. We won’t regret staying here, and would happily return.

The price was affordable, the air conditioning was powerful, and our sweat-soaked clothes were dry by the next day. The bed was comfortable, and the owner was very nice and shared information about lots of hidden gems. One drawback: if you don’t get up early to queue, the breakfast voucher for Hong Mama's Breakfast can take ages to use.

Grandma and Yuzu made us feel very welcome. The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked really well. Thumbs up to the owner. I’d highly recommend staying here if you like a personal touch.

“Mom, when I grow up I want to open a B&B. I feel happy when the guests are happy!” My younger daughter said that after our stay, which showed how much the instructor’s thoughtful hospitality had reached the children. It felt like visiting family. Grandma had chilled mangoes ready for us, and the kids loved chatting with the instructor in the living room. Her explanations during the “intertidal zone tour” were funny but professional, and she was so friendly. Even my four-year-old learned about several creatures, so the ticket was well worth it. Next time, we’d like to join tours at the other two locations too. Our two-day, two-night schedule was tight, and there weren’t many times we could go back to collect food we’d queued for. The instructors welcomed us home and even picked up our barbecue for us. My daughter noticed and said, “Mommy, the instructors are so nice! They got our barbecue when we came back. He works so hard! We should thank them!” We were celebrating both children’s birthdays on this Xiaoliuqiu trip, and before we left, the instructors gave them birthday presents: Xiaoliuqiu souvenirs that their grandma queues for every year. The kids loved them. The instructor knew I like taking Instagram-worthy photos and helped us get a family picture of all five of us, then took us to a hidden gem called “Turtle Rock.” A kind older man from Xiaoliuqiu showed us the way, and we were lucky to take photos there. I came away feeling the trip was absolutely worthwhile. As the online reviews said, the welcome felt like family and completely sincere. They cared for every guest, including the little ones. Even though we hadn’t rated the other guests’ “night tour” highly, they were still happy to chat about Xiaoliuqiu with us at the B&B until midnight. We were very touched and will definitely return to learn more about the island with the instructor.
