One Night Hostel

The capsule was so quiet that I slept really well, and the blackout curtain shut out all the light. It was roomy enough to sit upright, with a big, comfortable mattress and pillow. There's a light, charging point, and hanging hooks inside, and even clothes I hung up dried by morning. The lockers are large, card operated, and each came with three hangers. Most roommates were considerate, and there wasn't much socializing. I don't have photos, but this is my top choice in Yilan. The bathrooms are thoughtfully laid out, with hooks and baskets for clothes, plenty of shower and toilet stalls, and good ventilation. They stayed odor free, and there was enough free shampoo and body wash. The sink helped keep water off the floor, and the hand soap smelled like eucalyptus oil. The hostel was quiet throughout, with soft piano background music instead of pop. Staff were professional and quiet too. A water dispenser and trash and recycling bins are right there, which was handy. There is an eating area on the fourth floor, though I didn't go look at it. I didn't see a fridge or microwave, and assume there are just tables to sit at. Cleanliness, privacy, and the quiet capsule make this the place I'd choose again in Yilan. It faces the train station.

We came as a large group, and the staff went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. The owners were caring and considerate as well. The hotel felt modern and was very clean, with plenty of space around the beds and soft, weighted sheets. The beds themselves were clean and comfortable. It's directly in front of the train station, so getting around was easy.

Traveling solo, I felt secure in the mixed dorm, and the bed was clean and comfortable. The whole place was very clean, and I'd stay again. Yilan station is right across the road, and Dongmen night market is about a five minute walk along the same street. Family Mart is at the station, Burger King is downstairs in the building, and a 24 hour supermarket is roughly 100m down the main road toward Dongmen Market. Bring a toothbrush and towel, or pick them up there for just 100m. After 10pm until morning, you need a card to access the building entrance, elevator, and dorm. I'd read earlier reviews and worried about the elevator and staircase, but they didn't feel creepy, even late at night. Thanks to the young woman at the front desk last night for kindly noticing that I wasn't wearing slippers.

The owners gave us such a warm welcome and were genuinely friendly, which made the place feel like home. It's cozy, clean, and everything was in great condition. We'd gladly come back and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The location is handy too, directly across from the train station, with shops, a gas station, and car rental nearby. The night market is a short walk away for a quick snack or late supper. If you're unsure what to see as a tourist, the owners can give you a well-rounded guide to get your Yilan day started.
