Minren Hotel

The room is big and the location is very convenient. Just be aware there’s no elevator and they don’t provide toiletries.

The staff were friendly, and the location is excellent, but I wouldn’t suggest staying longer than one night. The price is competitive for the area. You’re right by the bus boarding bay for places like Taichung and Alishan, and the 7-11 is four shops away. The bathroom was very dated, like it hadn’t been updated since the 1970s, even though the bedroom seemed refurbished. Ventilation was weak, and the towels were small, though that was a minor issue. Mosquitoes were the bigger problem. I shut all the windows but could barely sleep for three hours because they kept appearing and biting me awake. There was evidence on the walls that past guests had dealt with them too. I hope the property looks into something like fumigation.

A good choice for an overnight stay if you’re on a budget. Highly recommended.

Minren hotel was a great place to stay, and the price was good compared with other hotels. The room was clean and nice, with a private bathroom and all the facilities we needed. The staff were lovely, helpful, supportive, and accommodating. They even warmed up our food for us. The location couldn’t be much better: right opposite the bus station, close to the big bicycle rental place, and near the pier. Highly recommend!
