Owl Hostel

I felt very welcome thanks to the friendly, helpful staff. My room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, so I'd definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers.

The staff were pleasant and really helpful, and we could rent bicycles for much less than elsewhere in town, which was great. Thanks for having us! Just remember to bring your own flip-flops for the shower, lol.

The location is handy, a short walk from the dock and even closer to the bus stop for the lake shuttle. The showers have strong hot water and a shelf for dry clothes. I found the place clean, quiet, comfortable, and easy to check into. It’s the most secure hostel I’ve stayed at: key cards operate the lockers, dorms, and individual capsules. Lockers, water coolers, and bathrooms are on every room floor, plus there’s a rooftop common area and laundry. The capsules have comfy beds, great pillows, a reading light and main light, and two power sockets. Their doors are larger than any capsule doors I’ve seen, which is helpful if you’re tall. The ducted aircon is a little weak but keeps things reasonably comfortable. If I’m back at SML, Owl Hostel will be my first choice. I was very happy with the facilities and service.

There are enough facilities here for a stay, but the beds are basic mattresses. Don't be surprised if you wake up with back pain. The hostel is okay otherwise.
