There's a nice glimpse of the lake from the room, though the hotel sits between two buildings so the view is limited. The room itself was quite clean. It's very close to the harbor, with lots of street-level shops, although most had closed by around 20:00-20:30. We stayed with family last night and found that all the rooms have double beds, with no single-bed option. The bathroom smelled like it had been cleaned with a strong acid, almost like urine. There was a rail for a shower curtain but no curtain, so the toilet seat and sink area got wet when showering. A large semi-transparent glass wall also meant you could practically see someone using the bathroom. It's a four-story building with no lift, so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs. For the price, it didn't feel cheap compared with nearby hotels that offer extras like elevators.

The location is convenient, right beside Ita Thao Pier with a shopping street downstairs. Our room was large, clean, and had a lake view. The owner was very welcoming, and we had a great stay.

We liked that each floor has its own unit, so there’s less worry about disturbing other guests. Just keep things quiet after 10 PM. Our four-person room had very large beds, strong water pressure, and a shower that stayed at a good temperature. It was clean, and the balcony looked out toward Sun Moon Lake. Not a direct lake view, but that didn’t take away from the stay. Friday is right inside Ita Thao Old Street, so food and views of the lake’s sunset and mountains are close by. Parking is provided too. There are stairs and no elevator, which we treated as exercise, though that might not suit everyone. We also got NT$70 discount coupons per guest for Dongdong Guabao near the entrance, a nice perk. I’d stay at Friday again on my next trip to Sun Moon Lake in Nantou, and recommend it to family and friends.

Even though our room didn’t face the lake, the side view was lovely. The place was easy to find, with clear directions, and parking was available. The owner was so friendly, and the hotel is thoughtfully designed. Our room was bright, spotless, and toiletries were ready at check-in. There’s no breakfast service, but they give you a meal voucher for one of two restaurants downstairs. One option is Dongdong Gua Bao, and the voucher covers items under NT$70. We had a fantastic stay! 👍
