The food was outstanding, maybe the best buffet I’ve ever had. There was a huge selection, everything was warm and well prepared, and the duck was my favorite. My wife has a peanut allergy, and a chef walked her through every dish to explain what she could eat. He clearly cared about the preparation and quality, and even remembered us on the second night and came by our table to check in. Amazing service. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with incredible Sun Moon Lake views from the balcony and windows. The bed was comfy too, and we called the concierge desk for different pillows and bathrobes. We used the in-room hot springs tub three times and each of the main hot spring spas once, both the family-friendly clothing area and the clothingless one. You need a swimming cap for the family-friendly spa, and we bought two at the desk for 115nt each. My wife and I also had fun in the game room. There’s ping pong, an arcade basketball machine, air hockey, foosball, and a TV with a nintendo switch. I went to the nightly magic show on our first night. It seemed really engaging, though my Chinese is limited, so I couldn’t follow along.

Waking up to a full panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake from the room was unforgettable. I think this is the best hotel in the area. The public spaces, facilities, and overall setting are very thoughtfully designed and well maintained. The 25-meter lap pool especially impressed me, since a proper pool like that is rare at a resort. Its changing and shower areas are spacious and comfortable, and the place feels relaxing and luxurious. The meals were well prepared, with plenty of choice. I’d highly recommend staying here if you visit Sun Moon Lake.

Leslie Lin was especially knowledgeable and sweet. She handled our special requests and took extra care to explain the menu to our family in both Mandarin and English. We had a great stay at FDC, and really enjoyed the upgrade to the VIP lounge, which felt well worth it. It was peaceful there, and the à la carte dishes were delicious. Hopefully we can come back and enjoy it again.

The lake view Japanese style room was lovely, especially with its in-room hot spring tub, and the view of Sun moon lake was the best. We also enjoyed the executive lounge, particularly the slow cooked eggs with mushroom soup and the variety of wines. The kids had a great time in the game room and pools. This is the best hot spring hotel I’ve stayed at. There’s a good range of food, activities, and facilities inside, and the building, garden, and trail are all designed with the environment in mind. The staff were helpful and warm.

Sun Moon Lake, with its mountains and calm water, makes a beautiful setting for Fleur de Chine Hotel. The scenery pairs perfectly with the warm, attentive, professional staff, who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and looked after. It’s a relaxing place where nature and luxury come together, and I was happy to linger. A beautiful hidden gem, highly recommended. 5 stars!
