The Crystal Resort Sun Moon Lake Mini-Hotel

The location beside Ita Thao village was convenient, and parking was good, about 50 m from the hotel. Still, you can find better options for the same price around the lake. Service was just moderate, and the night staff had trouble communicating in English. The room was average, though the bed was comfortable and the lake view was a nice feature. The layout was awkward: the bathtub sat out in the open by the main door, with mirrors around it, so it was impossible to use while someone was coming through the entrance. There was visible wear on the tiles and around the switch boards. Breakfast had a limited selection, but there were both Western and traditional dishes.

It's right beside Yidashao Wharf, so getting on a boat tour of the lake is easy. There are a 7-11 and FamilyMart(family mart) nearby if you need something to eat late, though most other shops and stalls close after 8 pm. Taxis don't seem common, and I basically didn't see any buses, so renting a car or scooter is a better idea. The service was good, and you can see the lake from the room. The design feels old-school, though, and there are a lot of mirrors, which I personally didn't like.

The room was spacious and had a lovely view, but no balcony. The hotel itself was nice, though for the price I felt the amenities and service didn't quite justify the cost, and I'd consider other options at that rate. I stayed one night. The location is great and easy to reach by boat, which costs 150 NTD per trip. There's no swimming pool, and breakfast was decent but ended early, at 9:30 AM, which wasn't convenient for late risers.

We were happy with our choice. The staff were very friendly, and the food was surprisingly good. There's a balcony on the top floor with a great lake view. Parking isn't on site. After we unloaded our luggage, a staff member took us to a nearby lot about five minutes away. It didn't really bother us.
