Sun Moon Tea Hotel

The location is the best part, right in the middle of town, about 50 meters from the main bus stop (Sun moon lake bus stop), with two 7-11 branches nearby. My triple room had a window but faced the road, so there was some noise. It got quiet after 9 pm, though. The bathroom was clean but dated, and the unusually deep bathtub meant I had to climb in and out to shower. The place is a row house, nothing fancy, so it works for a budget trip if you mainly need a bed and shower while you're out during the day. Keep expectations low. That's all from me, good luck.

The room we were given looked nothing like the hotel's photos, and what the owner showed us first was awful: no window or ventilation and a damp smell that was hard to tolerate. The room wasn't worth the price they asked. They don't understand English, so communicating was difficult. When we came back around 12:30 after a day out, the main door was locked. We had to wake the owner to let us in, which was really disappointing. The rooms are poorly maintained, and the place felt more focused on money than on being welcoming. I wouldn't recommend it.

The photos don't match the actual room, the WiFi is weak, and it's too noisy to get a good rest. There's no parking, and they shut the main gate early. Service was poor, too. The online price looked cheap, but they added fees. Breakfast was listed as included, but there wasn't any free breakfast, and I couldn't understand why. Such a waste of money.

The bathroom was really clean, with modern tiles and a new toilet, and the bed was comfortable, neither too firm nor too soft. There was a fridge and TV in the room as well. For the price, the quality is decent. It's handy for getting around, close to the pier and bus stop, with lots of restaurants nearby and a 7/11 right next door. You can rent bikes or scooters here, too. I don't know why the ratings are so bad, because I found this place better than people described.
