The staff were really friendly, but there wasn’t anyone on site around the clock. I arrived early to check in and nobody was there, so I had to press the intercom button to ask someone to come over. I expected the hotel to be right in front of the harbour, but it’s one row behind. Room 201 was large, including the bathroom, though the lake view wasn’t nice. The location was still good for walking to see the harbour. The hotel’s appearance didn’t feel like it matched the price, though I was there during Taiwan National Day, when prices were high. For the value, if I come back outside a peak holiday, I’d book one of the hotels at the harbour instead.

Room 601 was spacious, and the bathroom was too. I could see the harbour, but only a limited part of it. Still, it wasn’t worth the price. There was no Wi-Fi, the tap didn’t work, and ants were all over the table, floor, and bed. The curtains were dirty as well. No staff were on site; the owner got someone from nearby to come attend to me.

There wasn’t a breakfast, but they did provide snacks and a lounge where we could eat and make coffee. The rooftop was a nice place to see Sun Moon Lake at night. Staff gave us a discount on bike rental and half off a round-trip boat ride. The price and service were both very good. I’d definitely stay here again if I visit Sun Moon Lake in the future.

The host was so warm and kind. We got off at the previous bus stop, by the tea factory, and had no way to get there. The host came and gave us a ride!
