Arusha Naaz Hotel

It’s a peaceful place, and I liked the friendly staff and management. The hotel is in town, so nearby shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The prices are affordable, and there’s an in-house restaurant with a variety of dishes. I’d suggest improving the Wi-Fi speed and making sure the signal reaches every room reliably, without weak connections or dropouts.

Arusha Naaz is well known among locals for its snacks, and the owner, Mr. Muzaffar, was really sweet. I stayed one night and found the room tidy and reasonably priced at TZS 30,000, breakfast included. Breakfast was basic but decent. There was WiFi, though it wasn’t the best, and a nice shared seating area where guests could hang out. I was on my own, though! The snacks tend to sell out quickly, usually by around 4 pm. I missed them on my first day, so I made sure to get there early the next day. I tried the mutton kebab and puff pastry, chicken samosa, and chicken spring roll. They were all pretty good, but I’d built them up too much in my mind. Still, it’s definitely worth trying the food.

For a central Arusha hotel, the prices were fair, and the hospitality was great. A single room with bed and breakfast cost 35,000/= Tzs, or 1,700/= Ksh, and a double room was 50,000/= Tzs, or 2,500/= Ksh. Breakfast came with fruit juice, Tikiti Maji (watermelon), tea, coffee, or drinking chocolate, plus two large toasted slices of bread with jam and margarine, and either two scrambled eggs or a Spanish omelette. My friends and I needed somewhere to rest after a long day traveling from Moshi to Kikuletwa Springs and then Arusha. We were nearly out of Tanzanian currency and it was getting late, but luckily we exchanged Ksh to Tzs at NMB Exchange Bureal beside Clock Tower. The hotel was only 100 metres farther down Sokoine Road. I’d recommend it to anyone traveling to Arusha.

For 13 years, I’ve kept coming back to this restaurant for breakfast. The food is always delicious, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere cozy and inviting. It’s my regular spot, and I always leave satisfied.
