I felt safe the entire time at Furahia Hostel. I know some other reviews say otherwise, but this is one of the safest areas in Arusha. The staff were so friendly, the food was great, and the hostel was clean and in a beautiful location. I had a fantastic stay.

Wi-Fi worked for only two days during the month we were there, and the shower in our room stayed broken the whole time despite us reporting it several times. The owner was also extremely disorganized and unreliable. The hostel itself is nice, but I felt the location was unsafe. There were two break-ins, and money was stolen. The owner was aggressive toward female guests, threatening to throw them out if he didn’t get what he wanted. He also became physically violent, and was unpredictable. Do not book under any circumstances!
