The photos online don't really show how lovely this lodge is. We were unsure about staying in a hut, but apart from the outside look, it was nothing like one inside. The room was spacious and spotless, with mosquito netting over both beds, a large soaking tub, a shower, and a small private sitting area outside. There were two tables for our things, though we could have used somewhere to hang clothes or more shelves. The staff greeted us with such joy, brought refreshing towels and juice, then showed us to the room. Service, breakfast, dinner, and wine options were all exceptional. The pool looked well cared for, and the landscaping was beautiful, though we didn't swim. We wished we'd booked a few more nights.

Our two nights here were a great way to kick off a two-week trip in Tanzania. We got to relax and wait for our delayed luggage, which apparently isn't unusual. The rooms had the look of traditional Masai huts, with all the comforts inside. We also enjoyed the pool and the lovely food.

Gorgeous gardens and a laid-back atmosphere made this a lovely stop for our first and last nights in Tanzania. The service was friendly and excellent, and the food was phenomenal. I still think about the vitumbua, some of my favorite food from the whole trip.

The food still sticks in my mind months later. Their aubergine masala was wonderful, and the breakfast eggs were so good I hadn't known eggs could taste like that. Whoever the chef is deserves a raise, a paid holiday, and the keys to the city. The staff were among the best I've ever experienced. The whole property has a great feel, with clean, well-kept rooms, African design, a nearby river, and even some elephant noises. Such a great start to a safari. If I could, I'd give it five stars. Totally recommended!

We stayed here during a mid-range safari and found the rooms amazing, especially considering they use traditional materials. The pool was lovely, the dining area and bar were nice, and we could hear the river from our room. The food was excellent and service was great. Easily felt like a luxury stay to us, and one of the best places we've ever been.
