The grounds look nice, though the age of the place shows, and the rooms could use some work. Our bathroom shower leaked across the floor. The opening didn’t seem to fit the shower properly, almost like a tub had been removed and replaced with a smaller one. The room itself was a decent size, the AC worked, and the food was okay, nothing special. We stayed two nights before our safari and left a little disappointed. I probably wouldn’t stay there again if I were in the area.

The room had everything we needed, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were terrific, really kind and accommodating. We arrived late at night, and they went out of their way to get us dinner and a couple of ice-cold beers. It was my first hotel stay in Africa, and I thought the property was great. It’s a huge, fenced compound that feels tucked away even though the city around it is busy. The grounds are lovely, and I even got in a nice one-mile walk around the property.

The hotel is quiet, with beautiful grounds that make it feel like you’re in the jungle. Some of the rooms are large, and everything was very clean and well maintained. It’s quite remote, so you’ll need a taxi to reach a good restaurant. The hotel’s own food is just okay at times. They don’t sell alcohol, so you have to bring your own if you want it in your room or at the restaurant. Restaurants do sell beer, and getting ice is very difficult.
