The hosts were supportive, had useful recommendations, and went out of their way for guests. I felt like family right away, and the place was very clean. Breakfast was freshly made and really good. The neighbourhood felt authentic, and I felt safe there while enjoying everyday life in Tanzania. There’s a lovely garden and terrace to sit and unwind. I also had dinner there, including the best avocado salad I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you, Ligia & Joshua!

Ligia and Joshua made it feel like a home away from home. They’re kind, professional, and available to help with whatever you need to enjoy your time in Tanzania. The breakfasts were amazing, and the place was exceptionally clean. It’s the best hostel I’ve stayed in.

The house, which looks more like a lodge, was elegant and very clean. Joshua made us delicious Tanzanian food and helped arrange an incredible trip to Snake Park. My friend and I stayed several nights, and the hosts were friendly and helpful throughout. I hope to return someday.

On our way to a safari in Serengeti, we spent a couple of nights at the House of Black and White. Ligia and Josh were a real pleasure to meet, friendly and generous with information about the country, area, and town. The place felt like an oasis for an adventurous traveler, and it was spotless. They also helped us through the lost luggage drama from our flight and accommodated all our requests. It was a pleasure staying with them.

Ligia and Joshua are warm, cheerful, and hospitable, and staying with them gave us a home-like experience in Tanzania.
