Tulia Boutique Hotel and Spa

The rooms were spacious, but there was no safe, and we had trouble working out the air conditioning. The pool was okay, though nobody provided service there, and the restaurant's food and service both left a lot to be desired. We spent one night at Tulia before our safari on our tour company's recommendation. It was fairly quiet even though it was near the main road, and the front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. It was fine for a night, but the photos had led us to expect a peaceful oasis, and it didn't feel that way.

Our room was good and the hotel itself was okay, but the restaurant was disappointing. During our two-night stay, the menu was the same on both days and had limited choices. Each time, the food took almost an hour to arrive.

The pool area is pleasant, the food is okay, and the Wi-Fi is excellent. You can hear all the hallway noise from inside the room, though, so this wouldn't suit someone who's sensitive to noise.

There was a supermarket nearby, and the location worked well. We stayed here during a five-day safari trip. The hotel was decent, and although the rooms were a bit older than those at the other hotels we stayed in, they were comfortable.
