We felt so at home at this hostel that we decided to stay longer. The breakfast was fantastic, and everyone around was lovely. Yusuf was especially helpful and kind, taking care of everything we needed and making an amazing breakfast. We’re very grateful. David handled our booking over WhatsApp and kept everything organized and easy. They also have laundry, good Wi-Fi, and a cool atmosphere. Thank you!

We booked two nights at Wakawaka, one on either side of our safari, and had a spacious, comfortable private room. Youssef made the stay special. He seemed a little shy at first, but turned out to be friendly and resourceful. While riots and police violence were happening in Arusha during the elections, he gave us useful advice and arranged a safe airport transfer at a reasonable price.

We stayed at a couple of pricier hotels during our safari, but they were much lower quality than Waka waka. The room here was spacious, bright, quiet, and very clean, better than the other Arusha hotels we’d stayed in. Yusuf is genuinely helpful and warm, and the manager responds quickly on WhatsApp with all the information you need. Honestly, come here with your eyes closed!

The location is good, but there was no hot water in the shower, the room smelled moldy, and there were bugs. David, one of the staff members, was very rude.

The rooms were good, and David and Yussef were lovely, knowledgeable hosts. It’s a regular house with about five rooms. Our visit wasn’t especially social, though there was usually another guest around who was happy to chat. The road is dirt, so bodas may have a hard time finding the place.
