Ngalawa Hotel & Resort

The room was in terrible shape. The AC didn't work when I checked in, the toilet hose was leaking, and there was a big lizard on the toilet floor. I complained, but it felt like talking to statues. Nothing was done, so I left before the end of the day I'd booked. There was no service in the rooms, at reception, or in the restaurant. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for clean, convenient rooms. With service this bad, the hotel needs to shut down.

My room was generally very clean each day, and the air-conditioning worked well. But the bathtub and shower drained poorly, and the towels were old, worn, and not very clean. They also need to address the reliability of the backup power to keep electricity uninterrupted.

The peaceful setting and stunning views made the location feel just right, whether you're after relaxation or adventure. At Ngalawa Hotel & Resort, the service was exceptional, with friendly, attentive staff who made sure my needs were met. My room was comfortable and beautifully designed, with a modern touch. The food was outstanding too, with plenty of dishes showing off Zanzibar's flavors. Every meal felt like fine dining. Highly recommended, it's a slice of paradise in Zanzibar.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful plants and a well-manicured lawn, with an amazing swimming pool. It's a lovely hidden gem away from busy Zanzibar town, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Zanzibar for the first time. The reception was amazing when I checked in and throughout my stay, and I enjoyed the staff's service. I'll definitely come back. Good work by the management.
