White Paradise Zanzibar

We loved how fresh and delicious all the food was, and there were a few adorable cats wandering around that we got attached to. The resort was clean and beautiful, and the staff were really kind. The Maasai workers were especially helpful and kind, and they put on a captivating show during one of our dinners. It's a bit of a journey from most tourist attractions, but it's a lovely quiet getaway if you want to relax.

The breakfast was poor, and the food needs work. For vegetarians there aren't many dinner choices. We were served potatoes with sauces for $12, which was expensive and didn't work as a main course. For a four-star hotel, the prices feel too high for what's offered. We also didn't find the beachfront we expected. The water is far away, and there's no beach in front of the hotel, just mangrove forest. We came away very disappointed. The owner and staff are from Czech Republic, and we expected them to know some standards.

The line staff were friendly, and the room manager was especially sweet and helpful. But over our three nights, we ended up eating curry for all three meals each day. Other dishes we tried had no taste, which was a letdown for us as foodies. Better food quality would make this a good place for guests, but the meals really need work. The restaurant manager also walked past guests without saying hello.

The meals were delicious, and the location worked well for both exploring and relaxing. We found the rooms luxurious, the beds cozy, and everything spotless. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel at home and went out of their way for us. White Paradise Zanzibar was a perfect stay.
