We booked this villa for 10 days in December 2025 with another family. It looks and sounds amazing on paper, but the actual stay was very different. The villa was extremely dirty and needed maintenance. I attached only 10 of the more than 80 photos showing the condition of this supposed “luxury” accommodation. The staff didn’t meet basic hygiene expectations, and most couldn’t understand or communicate in English. For what we paid, we expected and deserved Four Seasons, but got Motel 6 instead. I’ve put a detailed review on TripAdvisor for anyone who wants more information. Please research carefully before booking. There are several great alternatives just a short walk away, which we checked out. As someone who travels often, I’ve never felt more taken advantage of than I did at Villa Bluu. Don’t fall into the same trap. The pictures can speak for themselves. Five stars? Not even close.

We stayed with my family over New Year. Villa Bluu is a hidden gem in Jambiani, Zanzibar, with stunning ocean views. The food was delicious, mixing local and international dishes, and the service was excellent. The friendly, attentive staff made us feel at home. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and looked out over the Indian Ocean. Whether you want a restful break or an active holiday, it’s a great choice. Highly recommended!

An amazing villa in Jambiani with four rooms and a magical ocean view. I spent five nights here with my friend. The service was good, the staff friendly, and the food delicious.

The team at this small boutique hotel were well trained, and the service was impeccable. They went out of their way to make guests comfortable. I travelled solo as a woman and met another woman travelling alone. Since we were the only guests, they let me play the music I wanted. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Maybe the portions or number of courses could be reduced. There’s a wonderful massage on the roof, and the architecture and landscaping are beautiful. It’s very pricey, but worth it if you want to unwind, relax, and take walks along the beach. Low tide makes for amazing walks, and you can watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets directly from the roof. I’d recommend an early morning beach walk to see the town waking up.

Regina made our honeymoon stay wonderful from the start, helping with anything we needed and going out of her way to make it special. By the pool, Humphrey and Saumo were always smiling and brought us great drinks. They were friendly, helpful, and seemed able to make anything happen. We can’t thank them enough. The villa was clean, spacious, relaxing, and never too busy. Our room was a good size, had AC, and was cleaned daily. We ate there several times, and chef James really knows his way around the kitchen. The food was amazing. We stayed at Villa Blu with my wife and have no regrets. It was a fantastic stay, and we’d recommend it and return.
