Kilimani Kwetu Beach Hotel

It’s quiet and right on the beach, and the dinner was delicious with generous portions. The service was prompt and friendly. Some of the best food and service I’ve had in Tanzania, maybe the best. A wonderful experience.

That mango-coconut salad and curry were fresh and tasty, as were the local dishes we tried, including chips mayai and mishkaki. We were there as a family of five and had a really relaxed, lovely meal. Betty, our waitress, was warm and friendly, and chatting with her in Swahili made the visit feel personal. The restaurant sits on a beautiful, quiet beach, so the whole setting feels calm. We also liked the menu, written on a beautifully designed board that gives the place character. The drinks were great, especially the banana milkshake, and the oceanfront atmosphere was lovely. We’d happily return and recommend it.

The old management has left, and this page is no longer valid. The photos are out of date too. We’ve removed the tiles from the Beach Café and are bringing the garden back to what we feel is an authentic Zanzibar style, more suited to this beautiful, spacious beach garden. The previous management left the place and country without checking out, and we’re trying to sort things out. KILIMANI KWETU has a new concept, new management, new faces and a fresh start. We bring our hospitality experience and love for this beautiful island to a modern way of hosting. We’ll be back, and then back again. Such a special, unique spot in Bwejuu, with a chilled feel and one of the last really pretty, untouched locations. The food we tried was great, the staff were nice, and the sunrise was the best. Just an awesome place to relax.
