Kima Serviced Beach House & Suites

The owner was very helpful with guidance over WhatsApp, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We stayed four nights in the Coco Tree House and loved the accommodation, the view, and the excellent food and breakfast. The area is pretty quiet, which we really appreciated, and the beach is beautiful. Swimming is great in the morning or early evening, though the tide goes out in the afternoon. Watch for broken glass on the beach. Food and wine cost more than at comparable restaurants, around 50% more, though the food was really good. We also weren’t keen on the rather touristy spice tour we booked through the host for 45 USD per person. We’d hoped for a better recommendation.

We felt very well looked after by Susie Alfred and the team during our wonderful stay right on the beach. The tree house felt quite exclusive, and the food was great. There are also good restaurants close by on the beach.

The tides are magical, and to me this is the best place to stay on the whole island. It’s right by the beach, with excellent breakfasts and other meals, great service and a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely come back.

The staff are friendly and well organized, and we had a great five-day stay. The breakfasts were the best prepared of all the places we stayed in Zanzibar. One little thing really touched us: my husband and child picked a coconut up off the ground and tried opening it in the kitchen, but gave up and forgot about it. The next day, without us asking, there it was in the kitchen, nicely peeled with three partly cut holes so my son could try opening it himself again. We drank it with so much joy. Thank you for everything!
