Best Point Hotel

After a full day exploring the city, we found the hotel a peaceful, comfortable place to come back to. The historic entrance and elegant feel made a strong first impression, and the staff were friendly and attentive. They also suggested nearby hiking trails and other attractions. Our room had plenty of space, high ceilings, large windows looking over the lake, and comfortable bedding. The classic furnishings were nicely chosen, and we appreciated having a generous desk and free high-speed WiFi so we could get some work done. There were inviting places to sit in the lobby, along with a grand fireplace that made it feel warm and cozy. At the restaurant, we enjoyed well-prepared meals made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, with lovely lake views. We also made good use of the wellness facilities. The indoor pool and hot tub were relaxing, and the fitness center had modern equipment that let us keep up our workout routine while travelling.

The rooms were clean and had air conditioning, and the staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. The neighborhood is busy and can be difficult to navigate if you’re not local, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to foreign visitors. I’d also ask about the breakfast before booking. A simple, warm breakfast could add to the welcoming feel and help the hotel’s ratings. It’s an OK place, but it seems past its best, and expecting much beyond the staff’s efforts may be asking too much.

The staff were excellent, but the room had missing bulbs, the WiFi didn’t work, and the sink only ran hot water. Also, why provide just one towel for a room with three people?

The surroundings were pretty good, but the room I stayed in wasn’t well maintained. There was a mosquito net, which seems necessary in a city known for mosquitoes, but the bathroom pipes weren’t working properly. It gave me the impression management is neglecting routine maintenance.
