The breakfast was my favorite part, the best I've had in Zanzibar. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Blue Oyster. Everything, down to the little details, felt organized and considered. The staff were extremely helpful, the room was beautiful and stayed cool without air conditioning, and the pool was so clean. Can't wait to come back. Thank you, team!

After a week of safari on the mainland, we wanted to unwind, and The Blue Oyster was perfect for that. It's on a less touristy part of Zanzibar, with an incredible view over white sand and gorgeous blue water. Pure postcard scenery. There's a lovely breeze on this side of the island, so even in the middle of summer we never got too hot. The bedrooms have ceiling fans and mosquito nets, and we always slept well. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, the staff are friendly and professional, and the restaurant is good. They also offer a wide choice of day trips and car transfers at reasonable prices. Thanks to Mary and all the staff for helping us start 2026 so well! One insider tip: each year on December 31, the hotel organizes a Dhow boat race. It was great watching the town teams and their fans cheer on the local boating stars. It felt like a real local event (see photo). Highly recommend this hotel.

It felt like home away from home. The property is beautiful and clean, and the service is wonderful. The room decorations and the letter there made us feel even more welcome. I don't have enough words for how incredible and elegant this place is ❤️❤️❤️❣️❣️

After a safari in Tanzania, this is where you'd want to come for some sun and a wonderful atmosphere. The Blue Oyster is a beachfront hotel with beautiful gardens and a fabulous swimming pool. It's non-touristy and very eco-friendly. Don't miss this little gem.
