Boulevard Inn

We waited 1 hour 45 for food with our kids, and it took 45 minutes just to find out that half the menu was unavailable. When the food finally arrived, it was poorly prepared and the portions were small. At 10pm on the dot, they dumped the bill on our table. Wine was only available by the glass, and finding someone for a refill was almost impossible. The service was slow and rude, and the whole thing was terribly overpriced. Eye-rolling at guests is not welcoming. I recommend the staff get retrained.

The staff are friendly and ready to help, and there’s plenty of parking outside. I liked the well-kept garden around the inn and the roomy, well-maintained rooms. It has a modern feel and sits in Masaki, one of the nicer parts of Dar es salaam, so it’s a good fit if you want a quiet place away from the city’s crowds and traffic.

Good value for the money, with clean rooms, air conditioning, and friendly, helpful staff. The food is usually good when the chef is around, and you can arrange a meal ahead if your flight gets in after the kitchen closes. A few drawbacks: there’s no pool, the DSTV channels aren’t great when it’s working, and they turn the fridges off at 5:30, so drinks aren’t cold after 7 in the evening. All in all, acceptable.

A quiet, attractive place in a nice location, with services close by. The staff are helpful, and it’s reasonably priced and suitable for families. The rooms could use some modifications.
