Hotel Blue Sapphire

The main drawback for me was the receptionist on duty when we arrived around 8 pm. We were tired and hoped for an easy check-in, but she didn’t greet us or return our greeting. I didn’t find her helpful or attentive to guests, and didn’t see a smile. She was wearing a light baby blue shirt and a silver watch, and you can see her in my photos. It made me question her customer service. I’d give the hotel five stars if I could, but I can only give four. Its location near the airport is great, and they provide complimentary pickup and drop-off. The hotel looks good and still feels new, with beautiful interiors, outstanding rooms and floors, and bathroom amenities beyond what I expected. It has a very nice atmosphere and is one of the best hotels near Dar Es Salaam Airport.

The gym was well equipped, and the restaurant’s butter chicken and tikka masala were really delicious. They’ll even give you a complimentary ride to the airport at night. I can recommend it for an overnight stay, though it’s not very close to the city centre. We were only there for one night and found it very close to the airport.

I’ve stayed here many times and will keep coming back. It’s a great hotel near the airport, with spacious rooms, helpful staff and a fabulous restaurant serving Indian food. The main road can get noisy sometimes, though.

The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I arrived late and left very early, so I didn’t eat, but they kindly gave me a coffee before my pickup. A small odd thing: there were three pillows, but only one seemed to have a cover. The other two looked like the pillows themselves. At least I had one covered pillow.
