Yayo Hotel Masaki

The location in Masaki is good and the hotel looks nice from outside, but the stay was a mess. I arrived late, around 00:00, with a booking, and the receptionist said she hadn't seen it. She told me only one room was available, booked by another man who hadn't arrived and couldn't be reached. I was left wondering if I'd end up on the street. I also had no room key and had to ask reception to let me in every time. The electricity kept cutting out, with lights and sockets working by turns, and the Wi-Fi went off too, so I couldn't work in the room. Water leaked from the boiler and came up through the bathroom floor, leaving everything wet. For three days nobody came to clean, change towels, or replenish drinking water as promised, and I had to buy more water from them. The towels that were meant to be white were yellow and had someone else's hair on them. Breakfast was just fried or scrambled eggs, fries, strange sausages, a glass of juice, and white bread. No fruit, nothing to choose from, and it wasn't tasty. On the last morning they didn't give me breakfast because of some problem. When things went wrong, all I got was “Sorry madam.” What am I supposed to do with your “sorry”? This hotel isn't cheap either. If it had cost $20 a night, I might have accepted this situation.

Friendly staff and decent, modern rooms finished to a good standard. Since this is a new location, I'll overlook the many problems with the door lock and electrical outlets. They took a long time to fix, but we did manage to get them resolved.

We had problems with two rooms, but the staff were amazing and very accommodating, especially Gilda and Lawrence. Even at 3am, Lawrence was pleasant to deal with.

It's a very expensive hotel for what you get, and there's no breakfast. Housekeeping is totally unprofessional: they take towels from customers and don't replace them. The electric door system isn't working either. The hotel needs a lot of improvement.
