Casa Del Mar Hotel

We had booked three nights at Casa Beach house, but left after just one. The rooms were tiny, lined up like cells and opening straight onto the main walkway. They were so dark that you had to leave the door open or keep the light on inside. Jambiani was the only misstep on our three-week trip to Tanzania, with a crowded stretch of shoreline hotels and plots packed with as many rooms as possible. Leaving was the best money I spent on the trip, though I’m sure some people love this kind of package holiday destination.

I come here for massages, and they’re really good. The welcome is warm and the SPA is nice. I especially appreciated the girl who gave me my massage. Ashante 🌺

This was my fifth visit, and this time I brought my wife and son too. The setting is stunning, with the pool seeming to run right into the turquoise Indian Ocean. The staff, from management to the waiters and housekeepers, are kind, friendly, attentive, and helpful. The buffet breakfast has lots of options, and the food is delicious and nutritious. I had one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten here. The rooms are simple, but comfortable and clean. We’ll be back for sure.

We spent four nights here in the off season, and it was so quiet it sometimes felt like we had a private resort. The room, pools, and beach out front were all very clean. Four of the five meals we had were very good; the other one wasn’t great because of a miscommunication. Cocktails were good and well priced, with a long happy hour. The WiFi was definitely unreliable, though that didn’t bother us. There are a few shops and restaurants nearby, and Paje is a short cab ride away. Security is very alert and doesn’t allow sellers onto the property. The bed was very firm, and it was strange not to have a duvet. The AC and everything else in the room were good, though simple. We’d absolutely stay again.
