The beach, ocean and surroundings were fantastic, and the employed staff did their best under the circumstances. But the accommodation, especially the management, left a lot to be desired. There was also so much visibility into our rooms that we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. When we questioned the 5% surcharge on card payments, which we understood was not allowed by the authorities, the staff called for the “owner.” A while later, a shirtless white man appeared, stood in front of me and said only, “what, what?” He didn’t introduce himself, greet us or ask how he could help. He was extremely rude. When I explained why the 5% fee seemed unreasonable and not permitted, he said, “I don’t care.” He then talked about how long he’d lived and worked in Zanzibar and that he knew better. After we checked out, some people in our group stayed behind. The same man suddenly rushed into one of the rooms our friends were using, still shirtless, and started scolding them for supposedly sending threatening emails. They had no idea what he meant, and no one had written any such email, but he insisted. He also forbade staff from refilling drinking water in the rooms or serving food on the veranda, even though they’d done that earlier in our stay so we could avoid loud music during dinner. This man isn’t listed as an owner or part of management on the website. It describes the owner as a local man whom we never met. We don’t know who the white man was, though staff referred to him as the owner.

After a busy year, we came for Christmas and New Year to unwind, and had a wonderful holiday. The property, food, staff and location were all amazing. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day, and the staff did everything they could to make the stay memorable. Jambiani beach has white sand and clear water, and it’s great for snorkeling. A huge thank-you to Vanessa for a great holiday. See you this Christmas xx

I’m really happy with the service here. The place is beautiful and attractive, the drinks are good in a way I haven’t found elsewhere, and the food is delicious and unusual. The chefs want guests to be happy and are very polite. The whole staff is caring and very good. Thanks to the kitchen team, chef paul, chef dully, chef abuu, chef shafii, chef musa, and everyone else 🎉

We wanted seven days somewhere relaxing, and the comfortable, well-kept bungalows with daily room cleaning were just right. We loved the beach and made good use of the pool when the tide was low. The attached bar and restaurant served delicious food and drinks in a beautiful setting. It all made for a peaceful, comfortable and memorable stay. We’d happily come back anytime!

This was one of our honeymoon stops, and we had a great time. The beach felt more relaxed than the others we visited. Swimming is good as the tide comes in or goes out, but the shore is very flat, so between those times the water goes a long way out. They can help arrange tours and drivers. We enjoyed the live music on Tuesday nights. Our suite was right above the bar, so it could get a little loud, but they shut down at 10pm and it wasn’t much of an issue.
