S&S Hotel in Jambiani felt like a hidden gem after several disappointing stays at other Zanzibar hotels. We found that what had been promised was actually there, and our expectations were exceeded. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and very well located, with a sense of care, comfort, and authenticity that made it easy to relax. The people made the biggest difference: the staff were friendly, available, and eager to help, while the warm, welcoming management made us feel valued and well looked after. Their kindness and support helped us finally have the stress-free, memorable vacation we needed. We'd return without hesitation. Highly recommended.

The owner was so warm and supportive, always smiling and ready to help. We were even surprised with a lovely birthday celebration for my wife and me, which made the trip extra special. S&S Hotel has a friendly, family-oriented feel and I'd especially recommend it for a trip with a child. The rooms are modern, well kept, and spacious, with direct beach access and panoramic views. It's a calm, safe, well-organized boutique hotel with food quality and variety beyond what I expected. There are 24/7 patrols, which helped us feel at ease, and the beach is lovely for sunrise or sunset walks.

Deus, one of the waiters, really stood out: friendly, professional, attentive, and always smiling. He made sure things were right and went the extra mile to help us feel welcome. The food was delicious, especially with the ocean view while eating. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the ocean view, waves, and fresh sea breeze made the mornings special. The hotel is right beside the water, with direct beach access, and the whole stay felt peaceful and relaxing.

The beachfront location is excellent, and the property itself is appealing once you're inside, even though the exterior didn't make a very positive first impression. We arrived in low season and the poor service affected our stay considerably. As a couple, we were given a ground-floor double room with no real privacy beyond curtains. If we closed them, the room became completely dark and we had to keep the lights on, leaving us to choose between privacy and natural light. I politely asked to move upstairs. Our group were the only guests then and many rooms were empty, but the request was declined without a sufficient reason. The restaurant was disappointing too: the menu was very limited and had no fish dishes, which seemed surprising given the seaside location. Our tour guide had to intervene before that issue was resolved. The location is commendable, but the service fell short of expectations and left me disappointed.
